Meet Our Trainer
SNIFFERS is truly lucky to have sessions that are led by the renowned trainer, George Cockrell of Companions Dog Training. George has been training dogs for over 30 years (we should see if this has been longer?) in classes, seminars, and through private lessons. George assisted in setting policies and curriculum for PetSmart’s dog training program, and is often consulted by other trainers. As the mid-Atlantic regional director of the International Association of Canine Professionals, George was responsible for training and recruitment of other group members. George says that a good trainer “has many tools in his training toolbox”. Using his family-inclusive approach, George teaches by example, explains the theory behind his exercises, and then makes sure you can execute the commands and tricks on your own.
